Patterns - Women's Period Impressions

Choosing Your Pattern Size

Period impressions patterns are drawn from original patterns or clothing. They are, however, sized for today's bodies, while maintaining the period look. The patterns include illustrated sewing instructions. Most patterns come three sizes to an envelope.

 

Chemisette – Used to fill in the neckline of day wear. Worn from the 1830's through the 1860's. All Sizes

Ladies' 1850's 1860's Work Dress – Simple unlined gathered bodice with cartridge pleated skirt.Full cuffed sleeves can be rolled up for doing chores.

This pattern contains written skirt making instructions. It does not have a paper skirt pattern.

1860's Wrapper. The original is held by the KY Historical Society. Loose fitting the bottom is 108" around. A perfect combination to the 508 nightgown. The front may be simplified with plain front panels. The front pleats can be deleted for an easier/plainer style.

1860's Gored skirt – This gored skirt is a good basic over the hoop pattern. It can be as simple or as lavish as desired. Number of skirt panels depend on desired skirt fullness. From a museum piece.
